Heritage In The Churchyard
 

There are a number of notable headstones in the various churchyard areas, both those that immediately surround the church and those that are over the road in the cemetery areas that are looked after by the church and Nettleham Parish Council.  


OLD CHURCHYARD

 

One of the headstones found in this section is of Thomas Gardiner a 19 year old post boy who was murdered on January 3rd 1732. Click on his name to be taken to further information about him. 

 

 

To the North West (towards the back of the church) of the churchyard are 3 Commonwealth War Graves of RAF servicemen killed during World War 2. Click on the individual names to be taken to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission page for each man.

New Churchyard

 

In the area of the new churcyard looked after by All Saints are 2 graves of RAF Pilots who died in World War 2 and a memorial to a Royal Navy Officer who served in World War 1 and died shortly after the war ended. In the New Churchyard area looked after by Nettleham Parish Council are 4 garves of RAF personnel killed in a Vulcan Bomber crash over Malta.
